A Sophisticated Boston Wedding at The Lenox Hotel | Angela & Facundo

Boston weddings have always had a special kind of magic for me. I find that the city blends historic architecture, iconic skyline views, and intriguing venues in just such a way that few other places can. Angela and Facundo’s wedding day was the perfect example of that balance, it was a celebration filled with family, emotion, and unforgettable Boston elegance.

I’m starting the day getting ready at the sleek Westin hotel in the seaport, to an intimate Catholic ceremony at Saint Brigid church, followed by portraits overlooking the Boston skyline at Dorchester Heights, and finally a stunning reception at the world famous Lennox hotel, their wedding day was everything that makes Boston such an incredible place to get married. As the Boston wedding photographer these are the kinds of weddings that truly capture my heart.

Getting Ready at The Westin Boston Seaport District

Angela and Facundo begin their wedding day at the Westin hotel in Boston seaport district. This is one of the city’s newest neighborhoods and by far one of the most luxurious. The Seaport has quickly become one of Boston’s most vibrant areas, it is full of modern architecture, amazing waterfront views, and seems to be constantly full of non-stop activity. The Westin Hotel itself reflects the same sleek and contemporary energy; this makes it a fascinating location for getting ready for a wedding day. The hotel provided an incredible backdrop for capturing all the small details to tell the story of a wedding day.

The bride’s dress was particularly meaningful on this wedding day. It was a family heirloom that had recut and redesigned it to give it a more modern look while still preserving family history. The result was something incredibly unique as well as a blend of tradition and contemporary style.

The entire wedding party was going to get ready at the hotel. The bride and her bridesmaids spent the morning on one level getting their hair and makeup done, quietly enjoying conversation in the occasional mimosa. Meanwhile the groom’s meat is a very different atmosphere, there was much laughter, hugs, and a few emotional moments between family members and friends. The couple are very family oriented one, and that love was obvious from the very start of the wedding day.

A Traditional Catholic Ceremony at St. Brigid Church

The ceremony took place at St. Brigid Church in South Boston, which is a historic parish in South Boston. One of the most striking features from Saint Brigid church is its numerous vibrantly colorful stained-glass windows. As the sunlight streams through the colorful glass, it illuminates the sanctuary in beautiful patterns of light and color while leaving the rest of the church in a soft shadow. The effect created is an atmosphere that feels both dramatic and intimate, which I think is the perfect most meaningful location to have a wedding ceremony.

The professional began, the groomsmen started entering down the aisle looking extremely sharp and confident in their suits. But the real moment came when Angela walked down the aisle all by herself. She looked stunning and the emotion in the room was undeniable. There were smiles, tears, and quiet moments of reflection as the couple exchanged vows and officially began their new life together. The first kiss is man and wife was epic.

Boston Skyline Wedding Portraits at Dorchester Heights

After the ceremony we traveled to Dorchester Heights Monument Park. In my opinion, one of the most underrated portrait locations in Boston. This park is situated on the top of the hill in South Boston and offers sweeping views of all the city’s skyline, Boston harbor, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. This is my first time taking portraits there and I’m surprised that I didn’t know about this before. It’s an amazing location that I would recommend highly for weddings and engagement sessions.

At the center of the park stands a historic Rochester heights monument, which creates A striking architectural focal point for all of the portraits. The location gives us an incredible variety of backdrops for portraits. While there we are able to capture romantic portrait just the couple, elegant and fun bridal party images of everyone, as well as playful and candid moments between friends.

There’s also a small, wooded area nearby that caught my eye and provided A softer and more natural setting for some intimate couples portraits. The entire bridal party had a great time with this part of the day. Portrait sessions like this often become one of the more relaxed and joyful parts of the wedding day. It’s a chance for everyone to celebrate what’s happening together but also to have a lot of fun doing it. I often tell my couples that my number one priority is to create amazing images on the wedding day, but my second priority is to make sure they have as much fun doing so as possible. I want the whole thing to be enjoyable and just another memorable part of the wedding day.

Rooftop Portraits at The Lenox Hotel

After we left the park, we made our way West towards the iconic Lenox hotel in Boston Back Bay neighborhood. The Lenox has long been one in the celebrated hotels in the city known for its historic charm, elegant design, as well as numerous stories involving famous celebrities of the last hundred years. Before the reception began, we took the elevator up to take advantage of the hotel’s most unique features, a rooftop deck. From this spot you can see stunning views of Boston’s skyline from a very unique angle. This offers an amazing backdrop for striking and unforgettable portraits. We also captured photos in front of the famous Lenox red neon sign, a recognizable landmark that adds a classic Boston feel to the images. These portraits perfectly captured the couple’s sophisticated city style.

A Stunning Reception in The Lenox Dome Room

The wedding reception took place in the Dome Room at The Lenox Hotel, one of Boston’s most beautiful and historic reception spaces. It is a large yet somehow still intimate space with a beautiful high dome ceiling, which is lit with chandeliers and skylights. With its elegant architecture and warm atmosphere, the room provided the perfect setting for this unforgettable celebration.

The evening began with lively introductions as the wedding party entered the reception to cheers from family and friends. From there, the night unfolded into a wonderful celebration filled with:

• Live music
• A packed dance floor
• Endless laughter and celebration

Many of the speeches brought tears to people’s eyes, highlighting just how much Angela and Facundo mean to the people around them. By the time the dance floor filled up, it was clear that this wedding was going to be a night no one would forget.
