Charlee and Pat, the Bride and Groom to be, pose for fun portrait a brick wall at Maudslay State Park

There is something remarkable and unique about a story love like Charlee & Pat. These two individuals are not just simply in love- they are also incredibly fun and goofy to be around. This dramatic made their engagement session at Maudsley State Park an absolute dream to photograph.

If you have never been there before, I highly recommend it. Maudsley State Park, in Newburyport MA, is a nearly five hundred acres nature persevere one hour north of Boston. It is filled with scenic grassy prairies, dense woods, a botanical garden, and a network of carefully design trails connecting it all. It is well worth a visit.

As Charlee and Pat, the engaged couple, strolled through the park, Pat constantly made jokes which made Charlee laugh.

A warm summer evening in Newburyport

The time for Charlee and Pat's engagement session was specific set for late in the day on a warm, cozy, summer day. This was done intentionally so that precisely when the sun would be low in the sky, streaming through the trees at an almost horizontal angle, the couple would be enveloped in soft, golden light. This experience would mirror the dreamy and playful style of their relationship. The way the sunlight filtered through the trees and illuminated their laughter was pure magic, making each moment feel intimate and timeless.

Portraits in the Botantical Garden

Without a doubt my favorite part of the session was photographing portraits of Charlee and Pat inside the ruins of the Maudslay Mansion, which has been converted into a Botanical garden. The landmark has a strong almost dream like quality about it that compliments the couple's joyous relationship as well as Charlee's love of flowers. Surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant blooms, the couple’s playful and loving connection felt even more alive. The historic charm of the garden’s stonework, paired with the natural beauty of the flowers, provided a stunning setting that added an extra layer of romance to their portraits.
